A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the 10th Lorena Ochoa Charity Classic in April 2024 such a memorable event! Thanks to your support, we were thrilled to contribute $70,500 to the Foundation. We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we’re already looking forward to what’s next!
We’re excited to announce that the 11th Annual Lorena Ochoa Charity Classic will take place on Monday, May 19th, 2025. Get ready for another unforgettable day with Lorena and friends, featuring a scramble format tournament followed by a lively luncheon packed with prizes, raffles, and plenty of laughter!
As always, the true heart of this event is the charity supporting children. While we love the friendly competition, it’s the impact we’re making for these children that matters most. Together, we can make a difference.

The Lorena Ochoa Foundation
The Lorena Ochoa Foundation has been transforming lives through education for 18 years. At the heart of its mission is the La Barranca Educational Center in Guadalajara, Mexico, which provides innovative learning opportunities to 364 underprivileged students in elementary and middle school. With a curriculum designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking, the center incorporates sports, art, nature, and dialog into its daily teaching methods. Each classroom benefits from two educators: a traditional teacher and a workshop teacher, ensuring a rich and dynamic learning experience.
Over nearly two decades, the foundation has proudly provided more than 54,000 scholarships and educational programs, supported 257 families, and celebrated 7,281 graduates from its program. Dedicated to fostering a balanced life for children, the foundation integrates sports, healthy living, self-esteem building, and academic education into its work.
Beyond academics, La Barranca offers daily breakfast, evening workshops, and psychological therapy to students and their families. In the afternoons, the school opens its doors to the wider community, offering activities like soccer, judo, computer labs, dance lessons, music, and drama workshops.
Through its unwavering commitment, the Lorena Ochoa Foundation continues to create opportunities and empower children to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

LOCC Special Guests
Lorena is a Mexican World Golf Hall of Famer, who top-ranked for 158 consecutive and total weeks from 2007-2010. Now as a former professional golfer she dedicates her time on the Lorena Ochoa Foundation, one of her most proudest achievements.
Betsy is an American World Golf Hall of Famer, who won six major 34 LPGA Tour victories and 6 major championships during her golf career. She is the founder & chairman at Golf Fore Africa, a non-profit organization that helps African women and kids. She is a great friend of Lorena’s and was invited as the 2019 LOCC special guest.
Marisa is a Colombian professional golfer and has played on the LPGA tour for many years. She is a very close friend of Lorena's and invited to be part of the LOCC 2022 as a special guest. Like Lorena, Marisa organized a group to help underprivileged children in Colombia.
Nicole is a young Mexican professional golfer and a very close friend of Lorena's as well. With Marisa Baena, she was invited to the LOCC 2022 as a special guest. She graduated from the University of South Florida and plays in many tournaments. She qualifies for the second stage of LPGA, Q Series and is currently preparing for the tour which begins very soon.
Gaby López, born on November 9, 1993, is a standout Mexican golfer celebrated for her powerful swings and sportmanship. With a notable LPGA Tour victory in 2018, she serves as a proud ambassador for golf in Mexico, as well as inspiring athletes globally. With her victory, Gaby joined Lorena Ochoa as the only LPGA winners from Mexico.
Alejandra Llaneza, born on May 31, 1988, is a distinguished Mexican golfer celebrated for her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. She has competed on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour, the Symetra Tour, and proudly represented Mexico as a 2016 Olympian.
The Valencia Country Club
The Valencia Country Club was built in 1965 by legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and has played host to a number of professional tournaments, including the Nissan Open, the Senior PGA Tour, and Champions Tour. Golf Digest named the Valencia Country Club one of the top 25 golf courses in California.
In 2022, The Valencia Country Club had a big master plan Golf Course renovation which was finalized in October 2022. Looking forward to having the 10th Annual Lorena Ochoa Charity Classic on new, renovated greens.
