The Hakko FA-430 absorbs this smoke and passes it through its multi-layered filtration system pumping out clean air for you to breathe. This filtration system has a 98% efficiency rate at capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns in size. Its flexible duct makes placement convenient for hard-to-reach areas and its simplistic designed interface makes it easy to operate.
It’s important that while working we do as much as we can to keep the air we breathe clean. Good ventilation, along with other preventive actions keep us safe and when you’re soldering, desoldering, or doing some rework it’s important to take some precautions. The smoke you create while soldering is a complex mixture of gases and harmful chemicals that you don’t want to breathe in.

FA-430 ACCESSORIES
A series of additional accessories can improve the already outstanding performance of the FA-430 by providing either simplicity, comfort, or safety. Different HEPA rating filters can be swapped out to increase the filtration rating system and the different shape duct nozzles help operators work to their specific needs. A bench clamp kit gives stability to the ducts, while debris screens keep unwanted material from getting sucked into your FA-430. Even the wireless remote gives the operator control of the FA-430 without having to manual turn the unit on and off if it’s placed in a touch to reach space. All this and more designed with the operator in mind to give a better working experience.

 BENCH CLAMPKITS A clamp kit that features a wider clamping area utilizing two C-clamps, which results in improved stability holding the duct in place. This clamp kit also assists the operators from accidentally disconnecting the ducts and moving them out of place when interchanging the filters. |

TIPS
To keep the Hakko FA-430 running efficiently the filters should be replaced after about 160 hours of adsorbing solder smoke as large particles and chemicals from the solder smoke get caught in the filter fibers. Indicator lights on the unit let the operator know when its time to change out the pre-filter as well as the main filter. When the filters become so full of material, they begin to restrict airflow in the system which creates a small vacuum effect making the motor run faster, this will trigger the “Pre-Filter” indicator light to come on.
The other filter light is for the main filter, and this light is programmed to turn on after the 10th prefilter change. The main filter begins to lose efficiency around the point that the system has been in operation long enough that you have had to have replaced the prefilter 10 times. This light will stay on all the time if the system has reached the 2000-hour operation mark and the main filter has still not been replaced.
A few things can set off the prefilter light, such as a clog, or if the opening is backed up so be sure to check the FA-430 frequently.

SET UP
STEP 1
In the box you’ll find the FA-430 unit with a provided Pre-filter and Main Filter, a *duct kit with nozzle and port cap. Included will also be the instruction manual. *The duct kit will depend on which FA-430 unit was purchased
STEP 2
Attach the nozzle to one end of the duct and connect the other end of the duct into one of the FA-430’s available ports. Place the port cap onto the other port to seal the unit.
STEP 3
Place the FA-430 main unit on the floor and plug in for power.
STEP 4
Position the duct to you liking to best absorb the smoke from your workspace. Turn on for power and adjust speed to your desired liking.

Keep the duct within a 6-inch distance from your application for best results.
